Economic Evaluation With Stakeholders
The economic efficiency of an energy system can be evaluated with TOP-Energy from the point of view of individual actors (stakeholders).
In order to assign the cost and revenue shares to certain stakeholders, first save each Stakeholder with a separate component in the Component Library of the Project explorer. For reasons of clarity, also place the Stakeholder components on the Scheme of the variant, as shown in the following figure.
Then you can create references to the Stakeholders in the tariffs and in all technical components that have the Economic input data form. On the other hand, stakeholders do not play a role in the supplier components.
The actors are selected in drop-down lists, which are located directly below the individual cost or revenue shares (e.g., Investment costs) under the tab Economic input data (see following figure), in the tariffs under the tab Typical input data. Different stakeholders can be assigned to each cost component.
Any number of stakeholders can be used in a project and evaluated in a Variant comparison.
The aim is not to determine the optimal result for a particular stakeholder.
Variant
A drop-down list appears at the top of the Economy forms of the Variant ‘s Start year and Support years if applicable as soon as a stakeholder has been deployed in the project and a simulation and a Variant evaluation have been carried out. In the drop-down list you can select the Stakeholder for whom you want to display the results of the economic evaluation or a Default view without actors (see the figure below).
This does not apply to the ecological evaluation an Energy balance, which cannot be distributed among stakeholders, but always refer to the entire system.
Variant Comparison
In the Variant comparison Settings form for Economic parameters, the stakeholders are selected from drop-down lists at the bottom. The calculation Interest rate and the Company tax rate should be given for each stakeholder (see figure below).
If this information is missing for actors that are included in one of the variants to be compared, these actors are still shown in the Economic parameters Input data form of the Variant comparison after the variant comparison and the subordinate simulations have been carried out with the Interest rate and the Company tax rate of the Standard view without actors.
If one of the variants to be compared contains at least one actor, you can switch the view of the results forms for the economic efficiency calculation to an actor or the standard view without actors and switch between the actors. This does not apply to the ecological and energy evaluation, which is generally not divided into actors. After running the variant comparison, a drop-down list for actor selection appears at the top of the economic efficiency forms under Overview, Reference case and Variant 1-3 (see following figure).
Drop-down lists for selecting the Stakeholder appear at the top of the Variant comparison result forms Overview, Reference Case, and Variant 1-3 after at least one stakeholder has been selected and Simulation, Variant, and Variant comparison have been carried out.
In the forms of the Variant comparison results, the view for the respective Stakeholder can then be shown and changed between the actors.
This does not apply to the ecological evaluation, which is not divided among the actors.
Variant Comparison Report
The Variant comparison report always contains the economic evaluations for all stakeholders. The Word report is structured in such a way that the views of the individual stakeholders are dealt with in separate sections (see the following excerpt from the table of contents of an Variant comparison report).
The Variant comparison report can be easily split. You can give a customer or another actor only the part of the report that is intended for him to view. For this purpose, the corresponding passages that do not belong to it are removed from the Word report.
Excel Export of the Profitability Evaluation
An Excel export of the economic evaluation data only takes into account the perspective of one actor. When the Excel export is created, a dialog box appears for selecting the stakeholder for which the export is to be carried out. With several exports, the data can be output individually for each stakeholder.
