Reference Case
In the reference case of this tutorial, a steam demand is covered by a gas-fired steam generator. In addition, heat is extracted from the steam cycle to meet a demand for hot water.
Variant With CHP
In a variant, a combined heat and power plant is analyzed. In this system, a CHP unit feeds electricity into the public grid. The low temperature heat supplied by the cooling water of the CHP unit is used to cover the hot water demand. The high-temperature heat of the CHP exhaust gas, on the other hand, is used to generate steam.
