Cutting Time Periods

This method creates a time series by cutting from an existing time series.

The data points within a defined interval are transferred to the cut time series. The interval limits follow the rules less or equal and greater or equal. Data points that lie on the interval boundaries are also cut out (see following figure).

To cut a time series, select Methods → Cut/Extend → Cut (see the figure below) from the ribbon or Methods → Change Time axis → Cut from the context menu of the time series in the Project Explorer (see figure after next) or use the key combination <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<C>.

The dialog box of the method opens (see following figure).

Click Select time series and select from the open time series the one from which to cut a range. A multiple selection is possible.

Under Cutting Borders, define the Start and End dates and times for the section of the result time series.

Select whether the respective existing time series should be overwritten with the cut out one or whether a new time series should be created.

The following figure shows the result of cutting with the input data shown above.
