Configuring Tooltips in the Template Editor
A tooltip is displayed when the mouse is over the component on the scheme. You can configure the content of the tooltip for a component template during their modeling in the template editor.
Independently of the template editor, the tooltips for individual components in the project can be edited individually. This is described in the article Configuring Tooltips. The basic principles of tooltip configuration on the TOP-Energy user interface described therein also apply to the template editor.
To edit the tooltips of a component template, the component template is opened in the template editor. This is done by double-clicking on the component template in the component template library.
In the template explorer select forms. In the form, open the notes and tooltip tab (see following figure).
Under the sub-tab tooltip configuration you will find the table of tooltips (see following figure).
The 
plus symbol adds a row to the end of the table. A dialog box opens in which you select the value to be displayed in the tooltip from the input and output data of the component (see following figure).
Click in the round checkbox to assign the value to the active row in the tooltip table. The selection window closes.
The 
delete button removes the line previously activated by a click from the tooltip table. With the blue arrows 
and 
you can change the order of the values to be displayed in the tooltip.
In the tooltip table you can change the name (German), the name (English), and the units to be displayed. To do so, click in the corresponding cell and overwrite the name or unit. The units selected in a row must be convertible into each other, otherwise an error message will appear.
Add all values that should be displayed as tooltip to the table. This also applies to the values that are only displayed under certain conditions, e.g., depending on the selected input data or only in case of structural optimization.
Input Options
In most components, certain input data can be selected from drop-down lists, and depending on this, certain output data are calculated, which can be displayed in tooltips. To display these optional input data and the output data derived from them in tooltips, all possible combinations must be entered in the tooltip table. You proceed in the template editor in exactly the same way as on the TOP-Energy user interface. Follow the description in the article Configuring Tooltips, section Input Options.
Structural Optimization
Before adding parameters resulting from the structural optimization to the tooltip, the structural optimization must be activated. To do this, execute the EFL script setStructuralOptimization via the context menu in the template explorer (see following figure).
Switch to the form tooltip configuration under notes and tooltip, add a new row to the table with the button. In the window that opens, select the desired display value, for example Nominal Thermal Power as the result of the structural optimization.
To switch back from structural optimization to operational optimization, execute the EFL script setOperationalOptimization. Then you can add further values of the operational optimization to the tooltip.
Save
The tooltip configuration changes must be saved with the component template (see following figure).
