The Component Humidifier

The Humidifier component represents a technical system for increasing the water vapor content of the air.

Component Template

The Humidifier.e-ctpl component template is located in the Component template library folder HVAC Systems.

Integration Into a Scheme

Please note the Special Features of the HVAC Components. The following figure shows an example of how to integrate the component into a scheme.

The Humidifier follows a Heating Battery.

How the Component Works

The prerequisite for adjusting the water content in the Humidifier component is the previous adjustment of the required air Temperature specified in the Input data of the Air Demand component. The temperature must be reached in the preceding components, e.g., a Heating Battery.

Input Data

First set the Nominal humidification quantity as Design parameter in l/h, m3/h, or l/s.

Then select the Type of humidifier:

  • Adiabatic humidification (no change in heat in the system, no heat exchange across system boundaries, enthalpy remains the same) or
  • Humidification with steam (withour connection to the steam net).
For both Types of humidifier, you can set the Relative humidity (in combination with the Air temperature) or the Mixing ratio.
