The Components Dehumidifier and Dehumidifier_Cooling_Demand
The Dehumidifier components represent technical systems for reducing the water content of the air.
The Dehumidifier component uses electricity (material model MM_Electricity) for dehumidification.
The Dehumidifier_Cooling_Demand component uses a refrigerant flow (material model Heat/Cooling MM_Water) for dehumidification.
Component Templates
The component templates Dehumidifier.e-ctpl and Dehumidifier_Cooling_Demand.e-ctpl are located in the Component template library folder HVAC Systems.
Integration Into a Scheme
Please note the Special Features of the HVAC Components. The following figure shows an example of how to integrate the component Dehumidifier into a scheme. Use the electricity pin at the top of the component to connect it to the electricity net.
Use the cooling pins at the bottom of the Dehumidifier_Cooling_Demand to connect it to a cooling network that supplies the dehumidifier with cold (see following figure).
How the Component Works
The Dehumidifier ensures that the outflowing air has a maximum of the specified Mixing ratio. Dehumidification requires relatively strong cooling so that the water condenses and can be removed from the air to the desired extent. Once the desired water content has been reached, the temperature can be increased again.
Input Data
Enter the Nominal coefficient of performance (COP) in the Technical input data. This is the coefficient of performance of the underlying heat pump process used for dehumidification. The extracted heat on the source side is used for condensation dehumidification. The produced heat is used again to heat the air flow after condensation.
The following figure shows the Technical input data of the Dehumidifier_Cooling_Demand during Temperature dependent simulation.
Output Data
The Technical output data include the following parameters.
