System Requirements

Windows 10 or 11
Minimum 5 GB free storage (SSD), recommended: 20 GB
RAM: minimum 8 GB, recommended: 16 GB
CPU: minimum: i5 (8. Generation), recommended: up-to-date processor with the highest possible single thread performance

In order to generate Word and Excel reports, Microsoft Office with Word and Excel must also be installed on the computer on which TOP-Energy is installed.

Installing TOP-Energy

Download and install TOP-Energy from https://www.top-energy.de/download-topenergy. Certain browsers may display warnings during download. However, you can ignore these. If the warning “Windows has protected your PC” appears during the installation, click on “More info” and in the following window on “Run anyway.”

Users of systems with non-Latin characters please refer to the notes in the article of the same name.

After 5 days at the latest, activate TOP-Energy so that you can continue to use it within the agreed period of use. Until then, the software can usually be used without any restrictions even without activation.

Firewall

Certain functions of TOP-Energy can only be used with an Internet connection. In these cases, the connection to the mentioned websites must be allowed (e.g., by the antivirus software, in companies you may need the approval of the IT department).

You must register with the DWD at https://kunden.dwd.de/obt/register.jsp?productId=TRY&lang=en to be able to import the data directly from the DWD.
The data of the DWD are imported via https://kunden.dwd.de/obt/rest.

Project master data: Weather data: Data source: PVGIS
The data of the PVGIS are imported via https://re.jrc.ec.europa.eu/api/v5_2/tmy.

We recommend using the latest TOP-Energy version.
