What is the Data Report?
The data report is the general Word report that can be created for the entire project or for individual elements of the project explorer. Information on how to generate the data report and which other reports are available in TOP-Energy is provided in the article about Generating Reports.
The
data report is output in DOCX format. It contains tables with the input and output data of the project and, depending on the selection, the schematic representations.
The following figure provides an overview of some pages of a data report.
What Does the Data Report Contain?
Data reports can be generated for different contents.
The potential content of a data report is defined in the Report configuration on the one hand. This is explained in more detail below and in the linked article.
On the other hand, the way how you Generate the Data Report (via the Project ribbon or via the context menu in the Project explorer) determines which information is actually output in the data report. Using the Project ribbon, the data report is generated for the entire project, whereas in the Project explorer, a data report is generated only for the selected item and its child items. In both cases, though, only the parameters selected with check marks in the Report configuration appear in the data report.
The input and output data of the entire project including scheme images can be exported in the data report. Data reports can also be created for only single or multiple Variant, Simulation, Variant comparison, and Parameter study nodes as well as for single or multiple components. In the forms you can individually determine the parameters that should appear in the data report. To do this, select
Report configuration in the Home ribbon.
If the data report is created for the entire project, the project properties are always exported, even if these fields are not filled in. As long as a component is selected for the data report, the corresponding scheme is also output.
Default Report Configuration
In the standard configuration, the data report first contains all components of the project. The selection of the data to be output is limited to the data typical for most applications. You can recognize the standard selection by the check marks in the displayed check boxes in the forms of the components and modules after selecting Report configuration in the Home ribbon. Each check mark represents the assignment of the data value to the data report.
Certain components, such as the fresh air component, do not appear in the data report because no values are checked by default in the form for these components. Only if a value of a component is selected for the data report, does this component actually appear in the data report.
Please note that the report configuration can be updated automatically when data are changed. In the option menu for Forms, which you invoke in the Extras ribbon with
Advanced settings, you can specify that new and changed data values are automatically included in the data report under Forms → Output changed data values in the data report.
Structure of the Data Report
The data report has a cover page and a table of contents. It is structured by main headings and subheadings.
In the data report, the selected elements are simply consecutively numbered in their order of the Project explorer without adopting the hierarchical structure from the project tree.
