General Settings
Access the options menu via the Extras ribbon, the Settings group and the
Advanced settings button (see following figure).
The following window opens.
Under General, you will first find the General settings.
The following optional settings can be made with checkmarks under Saving options:
- Always create backup copy
- Prompt for confirmation before deleting
- Confirm adoption of global form data
- Confirm changing of global form data
- Show dialog “New Project” at startup
- Create log file
- Notice dialog when update starts
These options are enabled by default. Only log files do not need to be created regularly. This function is only used for troubleshooting.
Under Recently opened projects, you can define the Quantity of displayed recent projects and activate the option Open recently opened project at startup with a check mark.
Main Window and Ribbons
If the option Save position and size of the main window is activated, the last position and size of the main window are saved when TOP-Energy is closed and restored when the program is next started.
If this option is not selected, the position of the upper left main window corner with X and Y and the Height and Width of the main window in pixel can be determined in the cells above it.
The Context related ribbon tab change can be activated here with a check mark.
Servers and Updates
The Servers for Activation and Program update should usually not be changed.
The Check for updates at startup option can be enabled and disabled. This determines whether information on newly available TOP-Energy versions should be transmitted.
Component Data Base
The Server and Port are preset for the component database. You can change them if necessary.
Directories
Under Folders you can select the paths for saving and embedding Projects, Reports, Component Data, Tutorials, updates, Local component templates, user settings, and temporary files (see following figure).
By default, the directories for projects, reports, component data, updates, and local templates are located under C:\Users\$User name$\Documents\TOP-Energy.
The Directory for user settings is C:\Users\$User name$\AppData\Roaming\TOP-Energy by default. A folder EnergyFrames$version number$ is automatically added to the directory for user settings, which serves as the actual user directory. The directory for temporary files is C:\Users\$User name$\AppData\Local\Temp by default. If necessary, show hidden items in Windows Explorer to display the folders. The temporary files directory must contain the TE folder, which is needed to load a project.
Proxy-Server
If you use a proxy server, specify the proxy and proxy port (see the following figure).
