Tutorial 50: High and Low Temperature Network

Navigation:

In this tutorial, a central heating network with a flow temperature of 90 °C is separated into a low-temperature and a high-temperature heating network.

The tutorial illustrates the function of heat exchangers and the function of a Heat pump with an external heat source.

Reference Case

Splitting High and Low Temperature

The high-temperature network continues to be fed from a boiler while a geothermal system for the low-temperature network is installed. In addition, a heat pump is used, which can transfer heat from the low-temperature to the high-temperature network. The transfer from high-temperature heat to low-temperature heat is realized by heat exchangers via heat transfer.

The component Heat Demand Building is used for the low-temperature heat demand. This component can be used to integrate simple building models.
