Converting to Calendar Sizes
The method To calendar units (weeks, months) determines the mean value, the maximum, the minimum, or the integral for certain intervals of a time series and creates a time series from this (see following schematic diagram).
The time spans to be considered can be Hours, Days, Weeks, Months, or Years. Depending on this Interval for computation of characteristic, the values determined at the following times form the data points of the new time series:
A time series with a Sample time of one hour is adjusted to calendar units using the Characteristic Integral, which is determined for the Interval Days.
In the result time series, the Integral of the first day forms a data point on day 1 at 00:00:00. The Integral of the second day is recorded on day 2 at 00:00:00 and so on.
The Sample time of the result time series is one day. The data points result from the daily integrals.
Applying the Method
To start the method, select Methods → Change time points → To calendar units from the ribbon (see the following figure).
Or select Methods → Change time axis → To calendar units (weeks, months) from the context menu of the time series in the Project Explorer (see following figure).
The method dialog box opens (see the following slider).
Click Select Time Series and select the one you want to edit from the open time series. A multiple selection is possible.
From the drop-down list, select the Characteristic whose values form the new time series:
In the next step, select the time span for determining the characteristic from the drop-down list (see above).
Finally, decide whether the initial time series should be overwritten with the time series adapted to calendar units or whether a new time series should be created in addition.
