Moving Points in Time
This method shifts all data points of a concrete time series along the time axis (see following schematic figure).
The time zone and step sizes of the time series remain unchanged. Public holidays are not considered separately.
Three Variants
Three variants are available for shifting:
Shifting to a grid is done in such a way that the time series is shifted in the direction on the grid in which it is closest to the grid. If the distance is the same, it is moved to the next grid point, e.g., with an hourly grid from 00:30:00 (0 h 30 min) to 01:00:00 (1 h).
Applying the Method
To start the method, select Methods → Move → Move time points in the ribbon (see the following figure).
Or select Methods → Change time axis → Move time points from the shortcut menu of the time series in the Project Explorer (see the following figure).
The dialog box of the method opens (see following figure).
Click Select Time Series and select the one you want to move from the open time series. A multiple selection is possible.
Select the method to move.
After specifying the method, you decide whether the existing time series should be overwritten with the cut one or whether a new time series should be created.
Examples
The following figure shows an example of moving a time series with the start date 01.01.2011 to the start date 01.03.2012.
The initial time series starts at 2011-01-01 00:00:02 and is moved to a minute grid.
The result time series starts at 2011-01-01 00:00:00.
The initial time series starts at 2011-01-01 00:35:00 and is moved to an hourly grid.
The result time series starts at 2011-01-01 01:00:00.
The following figure of a value table shows an example of how a demand time series with the start date 01.01.2011 00:00:00 is first shifted by 30 min and then the result time series is shifted to an hourly grid.
