Cooling Battery

The Component Cooling Battery

The Cooling battery component represents a technical system for cooling the air using a flow of coolant (Cold water).

Component Template

The Cooling_Battery.e-ctpl component template is located in the Component template library folder HVAC Systems.

Integration Into a Scheme

The pins at the bottom of the component connect the blue cooling circuit (material model MM_Water): left in, right, out. Please note the Special Features of the HVAC Components. The following figure shows an example of how to integrate the component into a scheme.

How the Component Works

In the Technical input data, you can specify the Maximum heat transfer (e.g., in MW) and the Minimum outlet temperature of the air (e.g., in °C).

If you simulate with the material property Heat/Cooling: Temperature dependent, also specify the Outlet temperature (flow temperature) of the heat Transfer medium (water).

Output Data

The Technical output data (see following figure) include the following parameters.

  • Supplied cooling power
  • Mass flow at outlet
  • Outlet temperature of the air
  • Humidity at the inlet
  • Humidity at outlet
  • Operating hours
  • Full load hours
  • Number of starts
