Filtering by Values
The Filter values method is performed in two steps. In the first step, the values of a time series are filtered according to their relationship to a value (filter condition). In the second step, the values that fulfill the filter condition are assigned a replacement value.
There are three possibilities for the replacement value:
Start Method
To start the method, select Methods → Filter → Filter values from the ribbon (see following figure) or the context menu of the time series in the Project Explorer or use the key combination <Ctrl>+>Alt>+<U>.
In the window that opens (see following figure), select the time series to be processed under Time series. A multiple selection is not possible.
Filter Condition
Under Filter values matching condition you define the ratio of the values to be filtered out to a Number within a Tolerance range. The Number, the corresponding Unit, and the Tolerance can be freely determined. The comparison operators >=, =, and <= are available for the ratio to the value. The following applies in detail:
If necessary, the Tolerance limit for the filter condition can be adjusted.
The Filter empty data points option disables the selection by values. Only empty data points are assigned the replacement value.
The following figure schematically illustrates the process of filtering by values (here: clean up).
Further Settings
The replacement value is determined under Parameter for replacement (see above).
Finally, you select whether the respective existing time series should be overwritten with the filtered values or whether a new time series should be created in addition.
To be able to transfer the filter result to parallel time series with the same points in time, the replacement values 0 and 1 are used during filtering. Then the time series of the filter results (first time series) is multiplied by the time series to which the filter points are to be transferred (second time series). In this way, the second time series is filtered according to the points in time at which a specific value or value range occurs in the first time series. This is useful, for example, for filtering peak-load time windows.
