Number Forms
To enter values and units, there are number formlets. A distinction is made between the input fields for a number and an expression. These forms also occur in the combination NumberExpression.
The expressions Number, Expression, and NumberExpression are not of further importance for the regular user. These are the names of the EFL programming language, which is only used by experts in the Template Editor for modeling.
As an alternative to a constant value, a time series can be specified. This results in the possible combination NumberExpressionTimeSeries (see following slider).

Values can be global or local.
Units
Select the units in the field for units or enter them manually. In rare cases, e.g., with the air-fuel ratio, the unit field remains empty because no unit has to be entered. All units listed in the Base Units and Derived Units articles can be used. They are automatically converted into each other in the correct proportions as needed.
Expression Field
The expression field can be recognized by the following equals sign (=). Mathematical expressions are entered there. Numbers and the mathematical symbols + – / * ^ must be used for this purpose. Units must be inserted in the expression field in square brackets [ ]. If you click into another field after the input, the value is calculated and displayed in the number field. In this way small calculations and conversions can be carried out.
You can also insert notes and short notes in quotation marks (” “) in the expression field. These are not included in the calculation. There is no limit to the number of characters, but longer descriptions should be included in the definition of the identifier for the sake of clarity. To do this, the Meta Data is selected in the context menu of the identifier, which is opened by right-clicking. A window opens in which notes on the Data Origin and Quality can be stored.
