In this tutorial, a local power supply system is operated autonomously from the power grid.
Reference Case
In the reference case, the power demand of the stand-alone energy system is covered by a diesel generator with a nominal electrical capacity of 200 kW.
Variant with Diesel and PV
In the first variant, the island system is extended with a photovoltaic system with a peak output of 192 kW. With a solar power share of 32 % of the total consumption, the operating hours of the diesel generator can be reduced in this variant.
Variant with Diesel, PV, and Storage System
In a second variant, an investment is made in an energy storage device in order to increase the solar power share and to absorb generation peaks in the photovoltaic system.
