The Component Electricity_Converter
The Electricity Converter component represents a unidirectional current flow in which current losses can occur. The component can represent an inverter or rectifier or AC-DC converter because both direct and alternating current can be applied to the two pins of the component.

The Electricity_Converter.e-ctpl component template is located in the Component template library folder Electricity Supply.
Integration Into a Scheme
Tutorial 20 shows an example of how the Electricity Converter component is integrated into a scheme.
How the Component Works
The Electricity Converter component can be connected to the Programmable Controls to map the electricity losses in the network. Current only flows through it in one direction. This direction is indicated by the arrows in the symbol. If both directions of current flow are required, you can mirror one component and connect it in parallel with a second component. As an alternative to the Electricity Converter, you can use the Electricity_Direction_Pointer with less functionality and a smaller symbol.
The power grid losses mapped by the Electricity Converter are shown in the Energy balance form as Consumed electric power, in the energy balance of the Variant analysis and the Variant comparison each as Electricity demand of the Electricity_Converter under Electricity and in the Excelexport of the economic efficiency calculations on the Electricity worksheet under Electricity consumption (see the following figures).
Technical Input Data
Enter the Relative power loss proportional to the input power as a percentage.
To specify constant current losses in absolute terms, use an Electricity_Demand component instead of the Electricity Converter component.
