X-Y-Plot Windows
In an X-Y plot, the values of a time series are compared with the values of one or more time series at the same time and displayed as points. Cluster Points and Density Spread can be optionally displayed.
You assign the values of a time series to the X-Axis. You can assign the values of the other time series to the Y-Axis.
The points of the time series marked in the Plot Manager (Parameter 2 in the following figure) are displayed larger than the other points.
In the previous figure, the time series Parameter 1 forms the values of the X-Axis. The values of Parameters 2 and 3 are assigned on the Y-Axis to the values on the X-Axis that exist at the same time.
For the time 01.01.2011, 6:00:00, 2 from the time series Parameter 1 forms the X value, 1 and 3 from the time series Parameter 2 and 3 form the Y values.
For the time 01.01.2011, 7:00:00 the following applies: 5 from the time series Parameter 1 forms the X value, 4 and 2 from the time series Parameter 2 and 3 form the Y values.
Create an X-Y-Plot Window
Create a new X-Y plot window by right-clicking on an empty space in the Plot Manager window. The context menu opens, which you can use to 
Create a new X-Y-plot-window (see the following figure).
In the Plot Manager, the new X-Y plot window is created with the subfolders X and Y.
Drag and Drop the desired time series from the Project Explorer or a Data Grid to the X and Y folders in the Plot Manager or directly to the Plot Window to assign the time series to the Y folder. A time series can only be assigned to the X or Y folder and not to both folders simultaneously.
Configure Plot Window
In the Plot Manager, the context menu of the Plot Window, the X folder, and the Y folder (if it does not contain more than one time series) can be used to open a configuration dialog to Define the start and end time of the plot and minimum (min-value) and maximum values (max-value) for the X and Y Axes (see following slider).
Show Cluster Points and Density Spread
The Cluster Points and the Density distribution (Density Spread) can be displayed in the X-Y plot. They are accessed via the context menu of the plot in the Plot Window (see the following figure).
The settings for the display of the Cluster Points and the Density Spread are made in the Options dialog.
The following slider shows in the first two figures as an example how the dependence of a heat demand on the air temperature is shown in an X-Y-plot. The red circles mark the Cluster Points (accumulation points, first figure). The yellow-red gradient shows the Density Spread (density distribution, second figure). In comparison, the heat demand as a function of time can be seen in a simple plot (third figure).
