The Component Heat Pump
The component Heat_Pump represents a heat pump.
The heat pump can be connected to an external heat source. In the scheme, this external heat source is connected to the heat pump component via the pins.
The heat pump can also function with an integrated heat source, which does not have to be connected separately in the scheme.
The component template Heat Pump is used to describe the model of a compression heat pump process. The model depicts a heat pump, which supplies thermal energy from a heat source of low temperature (e.g., ambient or ground) as useful heat to a heat application. The heat pump carries out technical work (volume change work) with the drive energy (electrical energy).
Component Template
The Heat_Pump.e-ctpl component template is located in the Component template library folder Heat Supply.
Integration Into a Scheme
How the Component Works
Tutorial 62 demonstrates the use of the Heat Pump (case 2).
After activating the option Modeling with external heat source with a tick (see following figure), two additional pins for connecting the external heat source appear on the symbol of the component on the scheme.
If you selected Temperature-dependent, enter the Estimated source supply as estimatetd input value.
Model Message 8516
If the model message 8516 appears, the characteristic curve for the value of the Estimated source supply temperature cannot be interpreted and the nearest valid value for the COP or for the Maximum thermal power is assumed. If you want to prohibit the operation of the heat pump in these states instead of the nearest valid value, you can proceed as follows: With the Maximum thermal power dependent on source supply temperature setting, by entering 0 kW for the Maximum thermal power in the Maximum thermal power vs. source supply temperature characteristic curve, operation can be prohibited for certain ranges of the source temperature (see the following figure).
Videos (in German only)
In the Basisc Training (Grundlagenschulung) is explained in German how to use the component Heat Pump in several videos beginning with video 28/39.
