Estimated Input Data
Some parameters, which are calculated in the simulation and contained in the Output data, are already already required as coefficients in the optimization calculation. You must therefore estimate these parameters beforehand and define them as Input data. This is an unalterable mathematical requirement from MILP optimization. The simulation and optimization are carried out with the estimated values, and only at the end is the actual value obtained as the result.

Iterative Procedure for Estimating
You can iteratively proceed to estimate the Input data as accurately as possible. This means that you approach your goal in several steps as follows.
- Estimate a plausible value and enter it as estimated input value.
- Execute the Simulation.
- Compare the result of the actual value in the Output data with the estimated value in the Input data.
- If these two values differ significantly, write the value from the Output data as an estimated value in the Input data and repeat the Simulation. Repeat this step if necessary.
- If these two values (estimated input value and calculated output value) are close to each other, you can use the results of the optimization without simulating again.
Of course, you can also specify the values in time series for this process.
If the deviation between Estimated supply and actual consumption is too high, the model message 8524 appears.
