Pins
Pins are the connection points at the components for the connection to the nets. The information contained in the pins are displayed in the pin forms.
Depending on the selected modeling options and material properties, optional pins can be shown or hidden, for example in the case of fuel.
When the mouse is over a pin, a tooltip appears showing the name and function of the pin and any variables relevant to the material model.
The color of the pins depends on the connected material model or variable type (for programmable controls).
There are mono- and bipins.
Monopins
Through monopins, the flow of information, matter, or energy goes in only one direction. Monopins are displayed in a square shape.
Filled square pins represent outgoing streams from the component, and unfilled square pins represent incoming streams.
Bipins
Bipins allow the flow of information, energy, or material to run in both directions. This does not have to happen simultaneously, but can also be time-delayed. Bipins exist, for example, in Fuel storage and electricity components.
Bipins are displayed circular and filled.
Optional Pins
Some components have optional pins that are either added automatically under certain circumstances or manually via the form.
Pins for connecting the Fresh Air component are automatically added to the technical components when the material model Fuel, Considering composition, is selected and connected.
The following components receive additional pins when the given option is activated, which are initially not visible in the default state.
