Display Data on the Scheme
A pop-up window with component data can be displayed on the scheme for each component (except for the components Sum and Sum_EqualNull (sum equal zero)) for quick access to specific information without opening the forms. Such a pop-up window opens when you move the mouse over a component (mouseover).
The pop-up window is called Tooltip. The display of tooltips for components is optional. It is activated via the
Tooltips button in the Scheme ribbon. If the button has a grey background, the function is active (see following figure).
The title bar of the tooltip displays the circular Overlay symbols for investment and operating costs, operating constraints, and structural optimization. If a circle is empty, the corresponding property is not present for the component.
Configuring Tooltips
The displayed tooltips can be defined for each component. To do so, open the Notes and tooltip tab in the component’s form. There, under Tooltip configuration, you will find a table containing all the elements to be displayed in the tooltip (see the following figure).
Use the
menu button to the right of the table to open a pop-up menu in which some settings can be made (renaming, adding to report, meta data). The other four buttons are for editing the table.
For each identifier to be displayed in the tooltip there is one row in the table. The order of the lines corresponds to the display in the tooltip line by line from left to right. The following figure shows a tooltip as it appears on the scheme. It shows the row numbers (highlighted in yellow) of the entries in the corresponding tooltip configuration table.
Use the
and
arrow keys to change the order in which the values are displayed in the tooltip. This moves the line you clicked on before up or down.
Skipped rows result from inactive options from the drop-down lists (see below).
The first column of the tooltip configuration table contains the Primitive. This is the identifier of the value. The second column displays the Elementary, the elementary component. The third and fourth columns contain the Name (German) and the Name (English). The last two columns contain the units in which the value is displayed in the tooltip. If only one unit is displayed, one column remains empty.
To display an additional data value in the tooltip, click on the
plus symbol. This adds one row to the end of the table. A form window opens, in which you can select a data value from the Input and Output data of the component (see following figure).
Click in the round checkbox to select a data value for the tooltip. The window will then close.
Use the
delete button to delete the line you clicked on before.
The Names (German) and (English) and the Units can be changed and overwritten directly. The units within a line must be convertible into each other.
If the tooltip configuration is to be permanently available for the component in other projects, the component must be saved (exported), e.g., by dragging and dropping it into the component template library.

Input Options
For most components, certain input data can be selected from drop-down lists. Depending on this, the resulting values are displayed in the output data. The tooltips can be configured for these different combinations. For this purpose, all combinations to be displayed are defined in the tooltip table.
Before you add the value to be displayed to the tooltip table under the tooltip configuration tab, select the variable to be specified under the Input data tab, e.g., Constant efficiency, Absolute characteristic, or Relative characteristic. Only then add a new row to the table under the Notes and tooltip tab and the Tooltip configuration sub-tab. In the window that opens, select the desired parameter, e.g., the Nominal fuel power (NCV) under Output data. The previously selected option, e.g., Constant efficiency, is preset (inactive) in the selection window.
To include more options for the tooltip display, repeat the steps: Switch from the Notes and tooltip tab to the Input data and select the desired option from the drop-down list. Then, under the Notes and tooltip tab, Tooltip configuration sub-tab, select the identifiers to be displayed as tooltip for this option.
Structural Optimization
The same principle applies to Structural optimization as to the other options of the Input data: before the data resulting from structural optimization are assigned to the tooltip, the structural optimization option must be activated.
Press the button
Optimize structurally in the ribbon of the component.
Only then switch to the form Notes and tooltip and there to the sub tab Tooltip configuration and add the desired data to the tooltip table with the
add button as described above.
