Project Form of Master Data
The master data of the project are the base data that you can store in the project form and use throughout the project. These include Weather data and Economic base data, for example.
With a click on the
project node in the Project explorer, you open the form of the project master data (in the following figure under the project name Photovoltaic). The form contains the project information. It is divided into the subforms General, Location, Weather data, and Base data (see the following figure).
General Project Properties
Under General, you enter the Project properties: the Project name, the Project number, and a Description. By default, this information is included in the project’s Data Report.
Location
Under the Location tab, select the location of your energy system for which the weather data should apply.
Enter the Latitude and the Longitude or select the desired location on the map of Openstreetmap (OSM). The point in the center of the map will be evaluated if you click the Select coordinates from map button (see the figure below).
In case of problems with the map display, check the permission of an Internet connection by the antivirus software and the settings of the firewall. If necessary, allow the connection to the Internet already at the program start.
Weather Data
Under the Weather data tab, specify the Weather data for the location of your energy system: optionally by importing data from DWD or PVGIS via the integrated interface. Detailed information about this can be found in the linked article.
Base Data
Under the Base data tab, you will find the Economic base data and Typical power demand forms.
Economic Base Data
Under the tab Economic base data, you store the Interest rate, the (company) Tax rate, and the period under consideration as the Economic time periods in years. By default, these data are used by the Comparison of variants for all actors and for structural optimization, but if needed, this master data link can be broken. The Period duration is already specified as one year (see the following figure).
Here you can also specify economic data that occur at various points in the project, e.g., inflation rates and prices of electricity (such as the EEX price), heat, fuel, and CO2.

Typical Power Demand
You can specify electricity, heating, cooling, and steam demands as typical energy requirements.
The Typical energy demands are not linked to the components by default. To transfer the energy demands from the base data to the components, you must create the link yourself.
Master Data Link
Weather and location data are applied by default to the entire project for the Simulation Settings (ambient condition: Ambient temperature and Ambient pressure) and for the components in which the parameters occur, e.g., Fresh Air, Solar Radiation, Wind, and the demand estimation components.
When you drag the Solar Radiation component template from the Renewable Energy Sources folder onto the scheme, the environmental parameters (temperature and irradiance) and the Geographical data (Latitude and Longitude) are taken from the project’s master data (see the following figure).

(for deletable component parts, such as the working price in the electricity tariff linked to the master data) at the end of the line of a parameter.
The values from the linked master data are transferred (even after changes) to the forms of the Simulation nodes (Settings -> Reference condition), the Variant comparison nodes (Interest rate, Tax rate, and Economic time periods in years), and the components. The Tax rate from the base data becomes the Company tax rate in the Variant comparison, and the Economic time periods in years from the Economic base data become the Period under consideration (in years) in the Variant comparison.
You can unlink and restore the link to the master data.
Disconnecting
Click the button

. A pop-up menu opens where you select
Disconnect master data to remove the link with the master data (see the following figure).
Then the write protection is removed, and you can assign a value or a time series to the parameter.
Establishing
To apply a value or the time series for the parameter from the master data again, open the pop-up menu with the button
and select
Use master data value in it (see the following figure).
A window opens where you can Choose the data value. In it, navigate to the form where the parameter you want to link is located and click in the corresponding selection circle there (see the following figure).
Only the appropriate parameters can be selected.
Otherwise the values of the linked parameters are undefined. Instead of the value, undefined is displayed in the form (see the following figure).
In this case, message 8225 appears in the Simulator window during the simulation:
Input error of the variable … in the component …: The input value is not defined.
The cause is an invalid link, e.g., to the ETA or to the master data.
In that case, specify a new value for the parameter, a new time series, or a link to an existing master data set.
