Executing the Parameter Study

Navigation:

Performing the Parameter Study

Start the execution of the module with the master TOP-Energy application button or via the context menu of the node in the Project explorer.

The progress window of the Parameter study opens (see following figure). There you can see the remaining computing time, the steps taken, and the calculated values.

Online Evaluation

The Online evaluation button at the bottom of the progress window is used to display and graphically show the results already achieved during the calculation process, which can sometimes take a long time. So you get an impression of whether the evaluation can achieve the desired results. If the evaluation is positive, simply let the calculation continue; if it is negative, Stop the analysis and change your defaults. Clicking the Online evaluation button copies the existing intermediate results, or the final results after completion of the calculation, to the clipboard and opens an online tool for visualization in the web browser. Click with the right mouse button in the middle empty field of the online tool and paste the content of the clipboard via the context menu (see following figure). Alternatively, after a left mouse click, insert with <Ctrl> + <V>. Click the Apply data button and make the desired settings for the visualization.

At the beginning of a Parameter study to be carried out in absence for a longer period of time, check that you have selected the correct parameters of the correct nodes and that the values to be studied are actually varied.

Messages

The messages displayed in the progress window of the Parameter study are also displayed in the Last run form after the calculations have been completed (see following figure).

Pausing

You can pause longer simulations for parameter studies and resume them later if your workflow requires it. To do this, click on the Stop / pause analysis button located at the bottom of the Parameter study progress window (see following figure).

In the progress window, the following messages then appear.

Close the window with the button at the bottom right. To continue the Parameter study, click the button Execute module on the far left of the ribbon again. The following selection window then appears, in which you can choose between continuing the Parameter study you have started before and restarting the Parameter study.

If you save the project after pausing the Parameter study, you can close TOP-Energy, shut down the PC, or put it into sleep mode without any problems and continue the Parameter study later. However, before continuing the Parameter study, you must not make any subsequent changes to the project, otherwise you will have to restart the Parameter study.

Completion

After successful completion, you can look at the results and visualize them with the webtool.

The Parameter study changes all Variable Parameters from global to local. After executing, you can  Switch the parameters to global if desired
