This tutorial introduces the components Temperature_Constraints_Series_Connections and Temperature_Constraints_Parallel_Connections. These can be used to limit the flow temperatures of heat generators in series connections. In parallel connections, a minimum mixing temperature can be specified. It is no longer necessary to implement temperature restrictions via control components.
Series Connection
In the first circuit, the flow temperature of the Heat Pump in a series connection is limited to 60 °C. A detailed description of the calculation can be found in the Temperature_Constraints_Series_Connections component documentation.
Parallel Connection
In the second circuit, the Temperature_Constraints_Parallel_Connections component is used to specify a minimum flow temperature for a parallel connection of a gas boiler and a geothermal system. A flow temperature of at least 80 °C is to be maintained with a constant heat demand. You can find a detailed calculation of the power ratios that guarantee this mixing temperature in the Temperature_Constraints_Parallel_Connections component documentation.
Combination
In the third circuit, a combined circuit is set up in which a series connection is embedded within a parallel branch. To operate this circuit in a temperature-controlled manner, both the Temperature_Constraints_Parallel_Connections component and the Temperature_Constraints_Series_Connections component are used and linked together. In addition, the demand is increased in stages and a variable minimum flow temperature is set.
