The Component Ventilator

The Ventilator represents a device for generating the volume flow of air by means of electrical energy.

Component Template

The Ventilator.e-ctpl component template is located in the Component template library folder HVAC Systems.

Integration Into a Scheme

Please note the Special Features of the HVAC Components. The following figure shows an example of how to integrate the component into a scheme.

How the Component Works

In the Technical input data, enter the Nominal standard volume flow in m3/h and additionally either the Nominal conversion ratio in J/m3 (as Specific power consumption in Ws/m3) or the Nominal driving power as Nominal electrical capacity in kW for Constant efficiency. The standard volume flow refers to the standard conditions of T=273.15 K and p=1.01325 bar. You can specify the standard volume flow as a time series in order to consider time-varying values, e.g., for a room that is only used at certain times, such as an event hall.

For the Absolute characteristic, enter the values for the Standard volume flow (in m3/h) and the Electrical power (in kW) in the table.

For the Relative characteristic, enter the values for the Relative standard volume flow (in m3/h) and the Relative electrical power in the table.

The Technical output data (see following figure) include the following parameters.

  • Nominal standard volume flow (with Absolute characteristic)
  • Nominal electrical capacity
  • Specific nominal electric power consumption (with Absolute characteristic)
  • Consumed electric power
  • Mass flow at outlet
  • Volume flow
  • Standard volume flow
  • Operating hours
  • Full load hours
  • Number of starts
