Placing Drawing Elements on the Scheme

Navigation:

Drawing and Writing on the Scheme

Text fields and graphics can be inserted on the scheme in addition to components and net connections. Drawing tools are available for drawing directly on the scheme. This can be useful, for example, to show balance boundaries or to visually differentiate system parts.

Drawing Tools

Use the symbol polyline in the toolbar or the arrow to the right of it to open a drop-down list of drawing tools in the scheme view (see following figure).

Drawing tools

The drawing tools have the functions listed in the following table. Some symbols have an additional function that becomes active when the specified key is pressed at the same time.

Arranging Drawing Elements

The drawing elements are displayed on a layer below the components. They shine through the transparent areas of the components. Grouped drawing elements, on the other hand, appear in front of the components.

Using the context menu, drawing elements can be rotated by any angle.

Using the handle, you can also rotate a selected drawing element by any angle (see following illustrations).

Adding Annotations

Annotations and explanations can be inserted in the form of text fields with the symbol. The text fields have their own context menu, by which they can be rotated, mirrored, and grouped. The font can also be adjusted via the context menu of the text field. A separate window opens for this purpose.

Inserting Images

The button Grafik exportieren Insert graphics from file can be used to import images (photos, graphics, logos, etc.) into the scheme in the following formats:

  • BMP,
  • GIF,
  • JPG,
  • JPEG,
  • PNG,
  • PCX,
  • TIF,
  • TIFF,

The following window appears for selecting the file to be inserted.
