Function of the Home Ribbon

The ribbon with the tab label Home (see following figure) provides access to form and display functions. The ribbon can be used to add module nodes, execute modules, show and hide windows, and display time series in the ETA.

The Home ribbon is divided into the following groups:

Start: Execute Module

The application button  Execute module starts the execution of the module (Simulation, Variant analysis, Variant comparison, Parameter study) selected in the Project explorer. Alternatively, you can use the key combination <Ctrl>+<T>.

Add to Project

Three single buttons and a split button that opens another selection of buttons are available to add new nodes in the project tree in the Project explorer.

Simulation     Create a new Simulation node in the project tree.

Variant     Create a new Variant node in the project tree.

If you are not using the scenario manager, only create one Simulation node under each Variant node.

Variant comparison     Create a new Variant comparison node in the project tree.

Add     Create a new module node in the project tree (split button):

Variant     Create a new variant node in the project tree.

Variant + simulation     Create a new Variant with a Simulation node and a Scheme node in the project tree.

Simulation + scheme     Create a new Simulation node with a Scheme node in the project tree.

Simulator scheme     Create a new simulator Scheme node in the project tree.

Control scheme     Create a new Control scheme node in the project tree.

Variant comparison    Create a new Variant comparison node in the project tree.

Parameter study     Create a new Parameter study node in the project tree.

Engineering Time Series Analyzer

The Engineering Time Series Analyzer group refers to time series. Use the buttons of the group to open the integrated Plot windows area and the Plot manager or start the Engineering Time Series Analyzer (ETA) and open either the input or result time series in it.

Time series view (<Ctrl>+<E>)     Open time series editor ETA with the saved time series view.

Input time series     Open time series editor with all entered time series.

Only the input time series for the selected item in the Project explorer (e.g., a component or a Simulation node) are opened. If you select the project node in the Project explorer, the time series of the Weather data and the Economic base data (master data) are opened in the ETA. The time series of Ambient pressure and Ambient temperature, which in most cases are linked to the Weather data of the project, are not automatically output for each Simulation node.

You can select several nodes one after the other and open the input time series each time, they will be added in the project tree of the opened ETA.

Result time series     Open time series editor with the result time series (energy balance time series).

Only the result time series for the element marked in the Project explorer (e.g., a component or a Simulation node) are opened.

You can select several nodes one after the other and open the result time series in each case, these will then be added to the opened ETA.

Weather data time series     Open time series editor with all weather data time series.

Show

In the Show group, you can select which windows are displayed: The Project explorer, the Component template library, the Plot windows area with the Plot manager, the Watchlist, and the Component database can be shown and hidden. As an alternative to the buttons, you can also use the specified function keys.

Projektexplorer Project explorer     Display the Project explorer. <F8>

Library Component templates   Display the Component template library. <F9>

Plot window     Open Plot windows area and Plot manager. <F10>

Watchlist   Display the monitoring list for selected parameters. <F11>

Component database  Display the window of the Component database. <F12>

Forms

Edit output data

Clicking on the symbol opens the lock to be able to edit the Model equations and the Output data in the so-called modeling mode.

Report configuration

The check boxes for the configuration of the data report are shown and hidden with the Report configuration button. With checkmarks in the checkboxes, you select the data for print output in the Word data report.

Pin forms

The Pin forms button is used to show and hide the pin forms. Pin forms are additional notebook pages with their own tabs in the component forms that are not displayed in standard mode. They contain detailed information about the individual pins.
