Demands
In the energy system, a demand represents the required final energy of a form of energy (heat, cold, compressed air, steam, or electricity).

Specifying or Optimizing a Demand
Generally, the required final energy can always be specified as a time series of a load profile or several load profiles, or it can be calculated in the optimization. For this purpose you have the choice at the beginning of the form Technical input data of each demand component (see following figure).
If the demand is specified, it must be satisfied so that the energy balance is achieved.
If the demand is to be optimized, it represents a degree of freedom in the optimization. As a result of the calculation, the optimized load profile resulting from the energy system is then displayed in the output data (see following figure).
Adding a Demand
If the demand is specified, several partial demands can be specified within a demand component, which are then totaled. To add a (partial) demand, click on the
plus sign in the technical input data (see following figure) and name the added component accordingly.
Typical Energy Demands in the Project Master Data
You can store Typical power demands for electricity, heat, and cooling in the project Master data (Base data) and then link these in the demand components.
Costs in the Demand Components
In the economic input data of the demands, costs can optionally, but not necessarily, be stored (see the following figure).
These costs are the investment costs or the running costs for the technical equipment that represents the demand. In the case of heat demand, for example, this is the heating system; in the case of electricity demand, this can be lamps; in the case of steam demand, it is the steam-using equipment.
