Bug fixes have been implemented.

In addition to bug fixes, this version contains many new features. You can also find out more about these in the video recording of the online seminar “Up to date mit TOP-Energy 3.3.0” (in German).

Components

The following new components are available: Power-to-Liquid, Electricity_Converter, and the new HVAC Systems component group, which now also includes the Fresh_Air component (also in the Fuel Supply component template folder).

Some of the control components have been organized in new folders and the following have been added, among others:

  • User-defined_calculation-A
  • Absolute_Value-A
  • Integral_Mean_Value-A
  • Integrator-L
  • CO2-Factor_Input-A
  • Specific_Enthalpy_Input-A
  • Optimal_Storage_Capacity

Parameterization

Temperature-dependent characteristic curves can now be entered in the cooling components and the Gas_Turbine, and structural optimization with temperature-dependent characteristic curves is possible in these components and the Heat Pump. The Heat Pump can optimize two sources with a new option.

The Valve-Throttle_Injection component has been expanded to include the option of entering a characteristic curve. Specific investment costs can be specified for most components. The Electricity_Tariff_Balancing_Power has been extended to include counter regulation for fuel.

Software

You can transfer system parameters directly from the new Component database to the corresponding TOP-Energy components.

The Parameter study combines the sensitivity analysis and multi-parameter study and replaces them.

Components with the same name in different variants can now be parameterized all at once. To do this, switch from local to global values. Components newly inserted from the Component template library have the setting of global values by default.

The Time Series Container (previously raw data) has been improved. You can drag and drop time series from the time series container to the number value input field of the desired parameter in the form in order to copy the time series there.

There are new operating options for configuring the Watchlist: To view comparable elements from different nodes, simply drag and drop the element from one node to another to add the corresponding element from the target node to the watchlist.

The Log levels in the Simulator have been revised. In the scenario manager, you can store time series as well as constant values in the tabular input for the creation of transformation paths. Additional entries have been added to the template for the Excel export of economic calculation. Support years are displayed in the Variant comparison.

In the settings for structural optimization there is the option Price change across years. This is activated by default and can be deactivated. When updating older projects this option is deactivated. Structural optimization without time series compression automatically sets the Look-ahead.

The user experience has been improved. A new display button in the quick access bar is used to show and hide windows in the user interface. More function keys are also available for faster operation.

The template editor has been improved and error detection made easier. A Rest API (Python) is available.

Engineering Time Series Analyzer ETA

With a new ETA method you can generate temperature-dependent heat load profiles.

The time series view is saved in the TOP-Energy project without using the Time_Series_Interface component.

ETA uses a new file format: .etax (ETA Extended Time Series File).

Note when updating projects from 3.2.4

The Heat Pump component has been improved. When updating existing projects with heat pumps in combination with programmable controls, please reset the links because of the extensive changes to the component.

In the Settings for Structural optimization, when updating old projects, the check mark for Price change across years is not automatically set in order to keep the same results as before.

The sensitivity analysis is replaced by the Parameter study, and all data are transferred automatically.

Time series projects in .eta format that are opened and saved in the 3.3 ETA are given the .etax file format.
