Table
In the Input Data, tables are used to generate characteristic curves which are displayed graphically directly next to them (see following figure).
Usually only numbers are entered in tables. The units are in the table header.
In addition, it is also possible to enter mathematical expressions for calculation. These expressions may consist of units in square brackets [ ], the mathematical symbols + , – , / , * , ^ , and numbers. When leaving the cell, the calculated result is displayed in the unit specified in the table header instead of the entered expression.
Changing Units
For absolute values, the units can be changed via the context menu by right-clicking on the table header (see the following figure). For relative values, this is not possible.
Copying and Inserting
Tables can be copied and inserted using the context menu which is opened by right-clicking on the table header.
The table data can also be copied to or inserted from external Excel files via the context menu. Copy and paste with <Ctrl>+<C> and <Ctrl>+<V> is not intended for this purpose. The entries Copy table and Insert table refer to the clipboard: the table is copied to the clipboard or pasted from the clipboard.
To paste data from an Excel spreadsheet, copy the desired columns to the clipboard. Then insert them into the table in TOP-Energy by right-clicking on the table and choosing Insert or Insert table in the context menu.
Appending and Deleting Rows
The
plus and
minus signs in the context menu and to the right of the table are used to append and delete rows (see previous figure).
Tables in Notes
Tables in the notes on input data cannot be edited. They are only for information about the use of input data.
Characteristic Curve
A characteristic curve is displayed graphically. It is generated from the adjacent xy value table, whose graph is a piecewise linear function. Changes in this table are transferred immediately and implemented graphically. For a valid characteristic curve, at least two lines in the table must be filled in.
Characteristic curves are often used to model the partial load behavior. For example, for the component Compression Refrigeration System, the relative electrical power is represented as a function of the relative cooling power (see following figure).
Avoid possible errors that cause model message 8508.
As with the diagrams displayed in the forms of the Variant- and Variant comparison nodes, characteristic curves can be copied, saved, and enlarged using the context menu (see following figure).
In contrast to the Variant- and Variant comparison diagrams, which are optionally displayed as bar or pie charts, the type of graphical representation of the characteristic curves cannot be influenced.
