Advantages of the TOP-Energy Import-Macro
The TOP-Energy Import-Macro is used to automatically import time series into TOP-Energy. By means of the TOP-Energy Time_Series_ImportExport component, the macro is stored in the TOP-Energy project. The macro can be executed there without opening ETA every time. If, for example, TOP-Energy requires regular operational optimizations on the basis of daily changing boundary conditions, such as EEX prices or weather data, this function saves a lot of working time.
Creating a TOP-Energy Import-Macro
To create a TOP-Energy Import-Macro, you start with the Time_Series_ImportExport component in TOP-Energy. In the form of the component open ETA with the
button for Import Configuration (see following figure).
To do this, use the
ETA buttons in the forms of the corresponding components in TOP-Energy (see the figure below).
Now start the creation of the TOP-Energy Import-Macro via the entries in the ETA menu bar File → Import → Create/Edit import macro (see following figure).
The following window opens.
The TOP-Energy Import-Macro is already selected under Macros above.
Load File
A click on the lower button Load file leads to the selection of the first file which contains the time series to be imported. In the window that now opens, the file to be loaded is selected (see following figure). To display all formats, the file format should be All Files. Then the CSV and TXT files will also be displayed and the file to be imported will be opened as a text file.
After clicking Open, the Load file step is recorded under Macro steps. The Raw data of the time series are displayed in a preview (see following figure).
The automatically recognized Delimiter shall be checked and, if necessary, corrected. With Transfer–> you reach the next dialog step and the macro step Parse raw data using delimiter is recorded (see following figure).
Assign Import Columns
As with Simple Time Series Import, the assignments of the time and date columns must be checked and corrected if necessary under Data Processing. Then all data columns to be imported are selected one after the other with a check mark in the table header. Each time a small window opens in which the time series is assigned to the corresponding value of the component in the TOP-Energy project and its physical unit (see following slider).
To ensure that the time series is linked to the target component in TOP-Energy and that the imported time series overwrites the selected data of the component in TOP-Energy, please note the following:
The default setting is a checkmark in front of Overwrite data of time series (see the third image of the previous slider). This setting completely replaces the time series in TOP-Energy by the imported time series. Use of this setting is recommended. Otherwise, for asynchronous time series, only the matching times are overwritten with the imported values and different times are added.
After confirming with OK, the next macro step is recorded with Overwrite …. As with Simple Time Series Import, the time series to be imported can then be previewed and, if necessary, edited. To do this, mark it in the window under Imported time series (see following figure).
Edit Macro Steps
To edit, delete, or execute the macro steps (actions), the context menu, which can be accessed by right-clicking on the macro step, and the following buttons are available:
Edit action,
Delete sction,
Run to action (see following figure).
To add more time series, repeat the steps starting with Load file.
The other macro steps are also recorded in the list.
Once all time series have been compiled for import, confirm with OK at the bottom right (see previous figure).
The query Save changes to current macro? is answered with Yes. Then confirm that the TOP-Energy Import-Macro macro is to be overwritten. The window for editing an import macro then closes.
The import configuration is now displayed in the form of the Time_Series_ImportExport component.
Run a TOP-Energy Import-Macro
To start the TOP-Energy Import-Macro from TOP-Energy, click the
button in the form of the corresponding component Time_Series_ImportExport. This executes the import macro and updates the time series in the saved view.
The
ETA button opens the time series of the TOP-Energy Import-Macro in ETA. There you can edit the TOP-Energy Import-Macro.
The
button removes the import macro from the TOP-Energy project and from ETA. However, the time series contained therein remain in the TOP-Energy project.
